I support the Arizona Governor and the new law designed to protect our people from an invasion of criminal elements associated with those who do not want to follow our laws.  Also we must oppose those groups who use illegal aliens to promote a hatred and racist antagonism toward white Americans.  Racism is used by groups to try to prevent us from wearing the American flag, criticize capitalism, and stir up dissent in our own backyard.  These anti-American groups are part of the same foreign interests that are doing everything they can to weaken our country from within.  Their goal is to wipe out our jobs and our manufacturing base so that we do not have enough wealth to support our law enforcement officials.  This will enable them to use gangs and thugs to spread violence and rebellion in the same way that Castro fomented revolution in Cuba.  We must stand firm to oppose anti-American hatred, racism by non-white groups, and anyone who tries to bring down Capitalism.

 

We must enforce our current laws and that means no to amnesty.

 

It is imperative that we get control over our borders.  Our country is full of descendants of legal immigrants from all over the world.  My grandfather emigrated from Italy in the early 1900's to create a better life for himself.  He didn't do it by sneaking in, but by following the legal immigration process followed by millions of other law abiding citizens.  Legal immigration makes our country strong.  Illegal immigration is a threat to this process.

We must complete the border fence between us and Mexico and enforce our laws to punish those who break them.  When I worked in downtown San Diego over the past several years I often saw the lines of legal immigrants wrapped around the block as they waited to be processed for citizenship.  They waited patiently as they went through the legal process to become Americans.  It is not right to allow illegal immigrants to cut ahead of them. 

 

Everyday our border patrol agents put their lives on the line to prevent unauthorized entry into our country.  Many people die when they try to gain unauthorized entry into our country as they cross the desert.  They are taken advantage of by unscrupulous individuals who try to make a fast buck by exploiting them.  

 

At the same time we must recognize that legal immigrants are a vital part of our society.  Here in California we are a great melting pot of immigrants from all countries.  Each culture brings different aspects to our nation's society which make us strong.  So whether we are descendants of European immigrants, Mexican immigrants, Asian immigrants, or African immigrants, eventually we are all Americans.

 

As Governor I will stand firmly behind our sheriffs and border agents who are on the front lines of the fight against illegal immigration.  This is a matter of national security as our country and citizens are under attack from those who want to do us harm from areas all over the world.  Those who violate our laws must be held accountable.
